World Quality Day 2019

To celebrate the World Quality Day (WQD) 2019, the coordinator of the Research Group on Quality and Organizational Excellence (RG-QOE), Paulo Sampaio, leaves a message : “In the 21st century we need to re-invent Quality to Lead and reach Excellence in the digital world”.

The WQD was established in 1990 by the United Nations and it is celebrated annually on the second Thursday in November.

It intends to celebrate quality worldwide, share quality achievements and to raise awareness of quality around the world as quality is a contribute for the improvement of performance every day of the year.

QOE @ EOQ Congress 2019

The Research Group on Quality and Organizational Excellence (RG-QOE) was represented by André M. Carvalho, Catarina Cubo and Paulo Sampaio at the European Organization for Quality Congress 2019.

The 63rd edition of the congress took place in Lisbon, Portugal from October 23 to 24.

André M. Carvalho, MIT Portugal PhD Student and member of the RG-QOE, delivered a presentation entitled “Rediscovering Quality in unstable and complex business environments”.

Catarina Cubo, PhD Student and member of the RG-QOE, delivered a presentation entitled “2018 World State of Quality results: an overview”

Paulo Sampio, Coordinator of the RG-QOE, was involved in the Organizing Committee and he was chair of the parallel session “Process Improvement Projects”.

Furthermore, André M. Carvalho was awarded with the “Best PhD presentation”.
