Fernando González-Aleu at RG-QOE as Visiting Professor

Fernando González-Aleu visited the Research Group on Quality and Organizational Excellence (RG-QOE) between May 6-10. Fernando is Associate Professor at the Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM), Mexico, and develops his research in the continuous improvement field of expertise.

During the week, Fernando had the opportunity to deliver a lecture to the Industrial Engineering and Management Integrated Master students and an open lecture entitled “Assessing scientometric bias in a systematic literature review: a kaizen event in hospitals study”.

He attended the QOE monthy meeting and several possibilities of cooperation between UMinho and UDEM were discussed.

QOE @ Production and Operations Management Society Conference, Washington

André M. Carvalho, MIT Portugal student and member of the Research Group on Quality and Organizational Excellence (RG-QOE), participated in the 30th Annual Conference of the Production and Operations Management Society in Washington, D.C. in May 2-6, 2019.

André delivered his presentation titled "Perspectives, challenges and opportunities for Operational Excellence in the Pharmaceutical Industry" in the "Operational Excellence in Pharma" session, where he shared insights of his work in understanding Excellence in highly technical industries, here in the particular setting of pharma and healthcare environments.

QOE @ SHO 2019, Guimarães

The Research Group on Quality and Organizational Excellence (RG-QOE) was represented by Pedro Domingues and Mónica Cabecinhas at the International Symposium on Occupational Safety and Hygiene (SHO) 2019.

The event took place in Guimarães, Portugal on April 15 and 16.

Pedro Domingues was the chair of the session "Safety Management". Furthermore, Mónica Cabecinhas presented the book chapter entitled "Revisiting diffusion models: Portuguese integrated management systems evolution" by Mónica Cabecinhas, José Pedro Domingues, Paulo Sampaio, Pedro M. Arezes.

Additionally, Catarina Saraiva presented the poster “Bibliometric analysis on the topic of “integrated management systems”: A first glance” by Catarina Saraiva, Pedro Domingues, Paulo Sampaio and Pedro M. Arezes.
