Presentation of QOE PhD student in the 2022 DPISE workshop

The Doctoral Program in Industrial and Systems Engineering (DPISE) Workshop took place on May 31, in Guimarães, Campus of Azurém, University of Minho.

This annual event intends to share the work that is currently being developed by the PhD students of this doctoral program. For the second time, participants were also invited to submit a virtual poster to the DPISE best poster award. The RG-QOE was represented by Catarina Cubo.

Pedro Domingues @ University of Gabes, Tunisie

Pedro Domingues, PhD, Senior Researcher of the Research Group on Quality and Organizational Excellence (RG-QOE), was visiting the University of Gabes, Tunisie, between May 23 and 27, through the International Credit Mobility UMOVE (ME) program.

Pedro Domingues had the opportunity to share some insights and to attend some meetings. Further, he delivered two workshops, entitled “Shortcomings of traditional Quality approach and the Emergence of Quality 4.0” and “Skills and competencies of the Quality Leader of the 21st century”.

Paulo Sampaio @ EOQ-ASQ-ASQE Webinar

Paulo Sampaio, Coordinator of the Research Group on Quality and Organizational Excellence, presented an overview of the latest "Insights on Excellence” (IoE)” in the online event “Insight on Excellence, IoE”, promoted by the American Society for Quality Excellence and European Organization for Quality, EOQ, last May 25.

Pedro Domingues @ Cracow University of Economics, Poland

Pedro Domingues, PhD, Senior Researcher at the Research Group on Quality and Organizational Excellence (RG-QOE), was visiting the Cracow University of Economics, Poland, between May 06 and 13, through the International Credit Mobility UMOVE (ME) program.

Pedro Domingues had the opportunity to share some insights and to attend some meetings. Further, he delivered two workshops, entitled “Shortcomings of traditional Quality approach and the Emergence of Quality 4.0” and “Skills and competencies of the Quality Leader of the 21st century”.

MSc Dissertation Examination @ RG-QOE

Arthur Costa, member of the Research Group on Quality and Organizational Excellence (RG-QOE) and student of the Master Program on Quality Engineering and Management (MEGQ) presented his Master Dissertation last April 07.

The dissertation entitled “Eficiência Organizacional e Operacional: um caso de aplicação” was supervised by Professor Paulo Sampaio. The examination was performed by Professor Pedro Domingues (examiner from Department of Production and Systems).

Arthur Costa was approved with a grade of 18 out of 20.

Raíssa Heringer awarded with the ASQ Student Branch UMinho Best Student Award 2021

Raíssa Heringer, Research Afiliate member of the Research Group on Quality and Organizational Excellence, has been awarded with the ASQ Student Branch UMinho Best Student Award 2021 on Dia do DPS 2022.

This award is promoted by the ASQ Student Branch UMinho and recognizes the best student of the Master on Quality Engineering and Management that finished this course during 2021 calendar year.

Raíssa Heringer concluded her master degree last September 8, 2021, with a final grade of 17.208 out of 20.

Yasmin Martins at RG-QOE as Visiting PhD Student

Yasmin Martins was a Visiting PhD Student at the Research Group on Quality and Organizational Excellence, from October 2021 to March 2022. Yasmin is PhD candidate in Production Engineering at the Federal University of Itajuba, Brazil. Her research is focused on risk management in medical devices on Small and Micro Enterprises.

During this period, Yasmin had the opportunity to develop some case studies with Portuguese companies. Further, she delivered a lecture entitled “Risk Management in the context of the standard ISO 9001” for the Industrial Engineering and Management students from Polytechnique Institute of Cávado and Ave’s masters program.
